UIPE celebrated it’s first year of operations by hosting a one of a kind Uhuru Leadership Forum & Dinner on the night of September 10, 2015 at Holiday Inn Hotel in downtown Dar es Salaam. Among the attendees of this event were some alumni of the 2010 Students & Young Professional African Liberty Academy (SYPALA) organized by AfricanLiberty.org and IMANI Ghana at the University of Dodoma in Tanzania. UIPE’s Executive Director recalled the SYPALA events which largely influenced his ambitions to become one of the most influential leaders for liberty in Africa.”My journey began at the Students and Young Professionals African Liberty Academy (SYPALA) in 2010 at the University of Dodoma in Tanzania. After SYPALA, I was inspired and together with my colleagues initiated a pro-liberty campus groups called African Liberty Students Organization-University of Dodoma Chapter (ALSO-UDOM) were I served as Executive President for period of one year” said Isack.

Another group of very important attendees to the Uhuru Leadership Forum & Dinner were graduates of the 2015 Uhuru Leadership Academy whereby all attendees got a chance to pitch their mission statements in-front of a panel of judges who comprised of SYPALA alumni. Each ULA graduate was given sixty seconds to present his or her proposal as to what he or she intends to do with the knowledge acquired during the two days training in spreading libertarian principles to his or her specific community be it a university campus, a city or a region.

UIPE will be hosting this annual forum to bring together amazing freedom champions from it’s libertarian network from all over Africa and world at large to exchange ideas and share strategies in advancing libertarian principles. This event is followed by a gala dinner which serves as a fitting grand finale to the forum, celebrating heroes of the freedom movement and the principles that friends of Uhuru Initiative for Policy & Education are advancing worldwide.
